:: Representative for Latin America 2009-2011

"Freedom is not enough, what I want has no name"

Hello everyone! My name is Ana Lídia and I'm the Representative of Latin America in EICYAC together with Yefry. I am also part of the organization Associação Curumins, which is a member of the ECPAT Brazil network. In May 2008 I was elected one of the three national coordinators of ECPAT Brazil.

I have been involved in ECPAT Brazil's work as an activist for the past three years and it has been five years since I started working in the fight against sexual exploitation of children. I enjoy very much debating about child and youth participation in combating sexual exploitation, particularly from a political perspective. We hope that soon all adolescents and young Brazilians will be conscious of their rights and will be able to fight for them.

I live in Ceará, in the Northeast of Brazil. I was studying Tourism, but now I'm getting ready to study philosophy. I am an active advocate for the rights of women, young people and African decedents in Brazil, and I believe that all these debates are focused a lot on the question of human rights. When I am not involved in social activism I like to go to the beach, paint, write poems and spend time with my family and friends.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Hello Everyone, My name is Yefry and I am one of the Representatives of EICYAC for Latin America and the Caribbean. I am also the Coordinator of the Youth Group ECPAT Colombia. I became involve in youth participation in 2004 and since I've been working for the promotion and protection of the rights of children and adolescents in my city, my country and my region.

I began to work on awareness and prevention of commercial sexual exploitation among vulnerable communities in the schools of my city, mobilizing adolescents and young people in defending their rights as active participants in society. Since then, these efforts have become part of my life.

As a Representative for Latin America I want to take things forward, contributing to the consolidation of an active group of young people that works against the sexual exploitation of children.

I'm live in Cartagena, Colombia and I study Business Administration. I am a Christian, I love Rock music and Metal Gospel, I am learning to play guitar and I very much enjoy spending time with the Youth Group.
